I chose this tour for my very first day in south korea and that was a super idea : some history, some chills, laughs and wonderful discoveries, a passionate guid who knows very well his subject, what a great start to discover the city !
The tour guide was very friendly. Although our tour was disrupted by the local protests, overall it was fun. There will be a lot of walking, so be sure to wear a pair of comfy shoes. The tour wasn’t as scary as we thought, it was mainly about the histories of Korea.
I’m very glad I tried out the “Dark side of Seoul Ghost tour” in Seoul. I love and have tried various dark tours such as Ground Zero tour at NYC, Crime and Mob tour in Chicago, Holocaust tour in Germany and this Seoul tour didn’t let me down. “Dark side of Seoul Ghost tour” was a walking tour spanning over about 1.5 hour and a few different neighborhoods in the center of the city. Joe, the guide, was highly knowledgeable about the Korean history and culture related to each of the spots we visited that I could recommend this tour even as an introduction to Korean history. The places he brought us to were filled with little stories about the past and we could also enjoy the street food of the modern days on the break. My friends asked me “Was the tour scary?”. I’m someone who cannot even take horror movies or thrillers, so I did get goosebumps at many parts of the tour, but it may just be me. There are so many people passing by so you won’t be startled as if you are in an amusement park haunted house. You will have to use more imagination than that. I would like to thank Joe for the wonderful tour and would recommend it to anyone who wants to see a little more beyond the modern buildings of Seoul.
